The Zezula Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit zezulafoundation.org, donate, subscribe to our annual letter, or contact us — and how we use, store, and share that information.
1. Information we collect
The Foundation collects only the information necessary to operate the site, fulfill donor commitments, and meet legal obligations.
- Donor information. When you donate, you provide your name, email address, mailing address (for receipts), donation amount, and designation. Payment details (card or bank information) are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor; the Foundation does not store payment card numbers.
- Subscriber information. When you subscribe to the annual letter, you provide your email address.
- Contact form submissions. When you write to us through the contact form, you provide your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Technical information. Our hosting service automatically records standard server log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). We do not link this information to identified individuals.
2. How we use information
The Foundation uses your information only for these purposes:
- To process donations and send IRS-compliant donation receipts;
- To send the annual letter and (rarely) other foundation communications you have explicitly opted into;
- To respond to your inquiries;
- To prepare year-end donor statements;
- To comply with tax and reporting obligations (including IRS Form 990 and state charitable registration filings);
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
3. Third-party service providers
To operate the site and process donations, the Foundation works with a limited set of third-party providers, each subject to its own privacy policy:
- Payment processor (handles donation transactions and stores payment details);
- Email service provider (delivers the annual letter and transactional email);
- Hosting provider (serves the site).
These providers receive only the information needed to perform their services. They are contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose.
4. Information we do not collect or share
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not share donor lists with other organizations.
- We do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels on this site.
- We do not use behavioral targeting or build profiles of individual visitors.
5. Cookies and analytics
This site uses minimal first-party cookies necessary for site functionality. We use Squarespace-style/standard analytics only to understand aggregate site traffic. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
6. Your rights
You may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal information the Foundation holds about you;

8. Data retention
